No Rock Band for Wii?!?!?!!?

Harmonix is committed to bringing Rock Band to every important system at some point, there are no plans to bring the game to the Wii at this point or a while, according to EA. Now, this doesn't mean that the game isn't coming to the Wii eventually or not, it just means that they're not ready to announce plans for the Nintendo version right now and probably won't for a year or so when people are playing Rock Band 2.

However, I'd bet that you will see a Wii version of this popular game before the end of 2008 or the start of 09, perhaps lining up with next year's holiday season,  you know, game developers are cool like that. In the meantime, Wii lovers, find a friend who has a PS3, 360, or PS2, and play the game and just wish you could at your own home.

Fake PSP Shocks people

For those of you who bought a PSP in the last year, you've probably felt a slight sting thinking about how much you paid for the thing and how little you play it. Well, that nothing to the sting some are feeling when they reach for the "Shock-Your-Friend PSP".

At first look, this little thing looks like just another PSP fakey. But, oh, it is so much more. Well not really more. It doesn't play games. It doesn't really play anything... aside from cruel jokes. You see, this thing is really an electric buzzer (not safe) lol!

Microsoft Has Xbox 360 CES Announcement?

Rumor time! Population: You!

Looks like the pre-show  is pointing to some big Xbox 360 announcement at CES from Microsoft.

They are predicting things like a new 360 SKU with a built-in HD-DVD drive. This would lead to, for example, something like a Toshiba HD-DVD player or even a DVR that could also play Xbox 360 games.

A new SKU would just suck and confuse people. But licensing out the tech could be so awesome (and maybe another company can actually make the hardware properly and stop the red rings!).

Gears of War Book ugh!!!!!

Sure, we all love Gears of War's main character Marcus Fenix, but how did he become so awsome and angry and good at shooting chainsaw-guns anyway?

We're all about to find out the answers to those and many other intriquing questions when the novel Gears Of War Pendulum Wars The Battle Of Aspho Fields hits your local library and/or bookmobile.

The Gears book is the "first official prequel to the blockbuster new Xbox 360 game Gears of War" and "goes about the characters back stories and gives  fans their first in-depth look at some of the past events that shaped the world in the game".

Also: Reading is not cool I'll just be waiting for the movie.

Nintendo News about time!

Soon, Nintendo fans that own both the Wii and the DS soon can soon see their fantasies happen, as  head honchinator for the company, says that users of the Wii  will be able to download games for the Nintendo DS to their Wii, and then put them  directly to their DS to play.

This is not a new, as PlayStation offers pretty much the same for PSP games, but it's good to know that Nintendo is putting their stuff out so that you can get all of the goodness in one spot. Good for ya, Nintendo.

Four 'Guitar Hero' Games In '08?

Lock up your mom: According to a rumor to be put in the next issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine (according to the Neogaf forum), there may be four Guitar Hero games in the works for 2008.

Guitar Hero 4, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, and 2 others may be on the way.

If this true. it  leads to downloadable content might no longer be the Guitar Hero game plan.

We can only hope Guitar Hero: Elvis Costello Edition is in the works.

Nintendo: DS/Wii Download Correction

Remember the story the other day that said that the Wii would be able to download and wirelessly send full DS games to the handheld console? Well, Nintendo has written us to straighten out the whole thing. Turns out the Wii will be able to download demo versions of DS games, which will disappear from the DS when it is turned off. The New York Times had it wrong, and, in turn, so did Game Daily, who we linked to for the story.

This is the statement from Nintendo's PR firm:

"An article about the Nintendo DS video game system in the December 31 Business Day section (of the NYT) incorrectly referred to future capabilities of the device. The statement that complete Nintendo DS games will eventually be able to be downloaded into the device via a wireless connection with the company's Wii game console is incorrect. Users can download games to play on Wii, and, in the future, the Nintendo DS will be able to receive demo versions of some DS games from Wii, but not the entire game. The demo will be erased once the Nintendo DS is turned off."

Now you know the real story.
